The International HIV/AIDS Alliance works with communities through local, national and global action on HIV, health and human rights. Our vision is a world without AIDS. Since 1994, the Alliance and its partners have supported over 3,000 projects, in over 40 countries, reaching millions of people.

The International HIV/AIDS Alliance is seeking a Technical Advisor: Fragile and Conflict Affected Countries to provide technical and strategic support to the Alliance for Community Health Initiative (ACHI), a Linking Organisation of the Alliance in South Sudan. The successful candidate will work alongside the Executive Director and other relevant staff to coordinate and enable efforts to support improved coverage, scope and quality of HIV and health integrated programmes for key populations and those most affected by gender-based violence.

The Technical Advisor will provide strategic oversight, management and support towards the effective positioning and functioning of the Linking Organisation; advice on management and quality assurance of ACHI’s programmes; will support effective knowledge sharing; and will contribute to the development of professional relationships with programme partners, relevant donors and other stakeholders.

The successful candidate must have significant knowledge of the socio-economic and political realities of the region and experience of working in fragile and conflict affected countries, alongside senior programme management experience at a country or sub-region level. Demonstrable experience in programming, policy and relationship development around community system strengthening, HIV, key populations and gender based violence are also essential requirements.
